FALL IS IN THE AIR
it's that wonderful time of year when the weather changes (well only a little bit of a change from our san diego summer weather), the kids are looking forward to a week of school vaction and clients ask me to begin styling their homes and shops for the holidays. just installed a fall-decor project for my fab client HOMETOWN REALTY based in san elijo. i've been so lucky to work with the owner ( Mary Maloney) from the beginning her boutique-style realty office began. we started with logo/identity and grew into the build-out, design and decor of her 'modern vintage loft' style office right in the hub of san elijo. although the big project is complete...i'm thrilled to style the place as needed...like for instance this holiday season. because the Hometown Realty office has a rather 'nostalgic-like' feel i designed pieces that worked as focal points (interesting vignettes) throughout the office comprised of natural textures of burlap, seagrass, twine and twigs along with tarnished vintage silver and mercury glass vessels. the vintage thanksgiving themed postcard images added a little touch of charm. now i'm so excited to create a my style board for Hometown's christmas/new years decor and installation.

KMART....FOR REAL....I'M SERIOUS
i'm working on a great styling project...a boutique/office (for a local realty company) that's opening in may. i put together a bunch of clippings, fabrics and swatches for a quick reference style board for myself and my client. while putting together the eclectic mix of vintage, french and modern styles we're planning to implement i came across a cute frenchy-like accent chair from KMART. yes, for real...i'm serious....i said "KMART!" oh and did i mention that the chair is $99!
don't get me wrong... i know they'll arrive in a box (we're ordering 4-6) and a ton of assembly will be required...but i think with a little sanding on the edges (to shabby it up a little) the chairs will be perfect for the reception area of the new space. check out the other coordinating items from the Country Living Collection and stay tuned for the b&a photos from my styling project.
